Preheat oven
Heat oven to 375°F. Grease baking sheet with Crisco.

Cream wet ingredients
Combine Crisco, sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended.

Combine dry ingredients
Separately combine oats, flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon.

Mix dough
Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture until just blended.

Add mix-ins
Stir in raisins and walnuts.

Bake
Bake 10-12 minutes until just lightly browned.

Cool
Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then remove to foil on kitchen counter.
Cook's Notes
Variations: Omit the raisins and add 1 cup of chocolate chips for a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. Or for an extra treat, omit raisins and add 1.5 tsp maple flavoring to dough. Bake and cool, then frost top of cooled cookie with mixture of 1 container Duncan Hines Vanilla Layer Cake Frosting and 1 tsp maple flavoring. Garnish with a walnut half.
