Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix wet ingredients
In a bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla. Whisk until well combined.

Add butter
Add melted butter and whisk together.

Add pecans
Add in the pecan pieces and mix together.

Fill pie crust
Pour into an uncooked pie crust. Adjust nut spacing if needed for even distribution.

Cook's Notes
Dark corn syrup creates a richer color and deeper flavor, but clear corn syrup works well too. If using clear corn syrup, brown sugar adds color and molasses notes. Pecan pieces distribute more evenly than halves and create a better texture.
