
Apple Slice "Pie"
An elegant individual apple dessert with paper-thin honeycrisp slices stacked in cinnamon butter and topped with golden puff pastry. A stunning twist on traditional apple pie.

Instructions
Prepare the Apple Slices

Slice apple
Carefully slice apple into 1/16" slices with mandoline (thinnest setting possible).

Make butter mixture
Combine butter, sugar, and cinnamon in medium bowl.

Stack in ramekin
Coat each slice of apple in butter mixture and stack in a ramekin until you reach the top. Press out excess liquid several times and add produced liquid back into soaking bowl.
Bake and Finish

Initial bake
Bake 10 minutes in a 400°F oven.

Drain excess liquid
Remove and pour out excess liquid.

Add pastry top
Top the stack with a layer of puff pastry and brush with egg wash.

Final bake
Return to the oven for another 20 minutes until pastry is golden.

Cool and serve
Let cool completely before serving, or at least cool most of the way. Loosen stack from ramekin with a knife and serve upside down with ice cream or whipped cream.
