Instructions
Prepare the Sauce

Saute vegetables
Saute green pepper and onion until tender.

Add catsup
Add catsup and spices. Stir well and set aside.
Make the Meat Loaf

Saute aromatics
Saute onion and celery in salad oil for about 10 minutes.

Prepare bread
Into a large mixing bowl, tear bread slices into small pieces; add onion and celery mixture.

Mix ingredients
Add raw beef, shredded carrot, salt, pepper, egg, and catsup. Mix thoroughly with your hands.

Shape the loaf
Shape meat mixture by selecting a baking dish or tupperware container, spraying it with Pam and pressing the meat into the container. Then carefully turn the meat into the oven dish you'll be using in the oven. It should be a covered baking dish which has also been sprayed with Pam.

Sear under broiler
Place meat in the oven, uncovered, under the broiler for 5-10 minutes until the top and sides are seared to a light brown. This helps to hold the meat together as it cooks.

Add sauce and bake
Remove from oven and pour tomato sauce over top of meat. Cover and bake for 1.5 hours at 350°F.
