Instructions
Prepare the Breading Stations

Preheat air fryer
Preheat air fryer to 370°F.

Set up flour mixture
In Bowl 1, combine flour, smoked paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Prepare egg wash
In Bowl 2, lightly beat egg with water. (Alternatively, use a mixture of buttermilk and flour for a sticky slurry.)

Prepare panko coating
In Bowl 3, combine panko and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Bread the Onion Rings

Dust in flour
Dust onion rings in flour mixture first.

Dip in egg wash
Dip rings into the egg mixture to cover, letting excess drip off.

Coat with panko
Dredge in panko mixture and press to cover completely.

Freeze breaded rings
Place breaded rings on a plate and freeze for 15 minutes to help the breading adhere during air frying.
Air Fry the Onion Rings

Spray with oil
Spray cold onion rings generously with cooking spray.

Place first batch of onion rings in the air fryer basket. Repeat with remaining rings.

Air fry 10 to 12 minutes at 370°F, turning them halfway through the cooking cycle.
Make the Dipping Sauce

Mix dipping sauce
Combine Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and paprika. Serve alongside hot onion rings.
Cook's Notes
For a low-carb version, swap breadcrumbs for pork rinds and use almond flour instead of all-purpose flour. These onion rings are kid-friendly and best served with a Bloomin' Onion-style dipping sauce.
