Preheat air fryer
Preheat an air fryer to 350°F.

Mix coating
Mix bread crumbs and oil together in a bowl. Stir until mixture becomes loose and crumbly.

Coat fish in egg
Dip refrigerated (not frozen) fish fillets into the egg; shake off any excess.

Coat fish in crumbs
Dip fillets into the bread crumb mixture; coat evenly and fully.

Air fry
Lay coated fillets gently in the preheated air fryer. Cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 12 minutes.

Garnish and serve
Garnish with lemon slices.
Cook's Notes
For more crunch, pulverize some bagged kettle potato chips and include them in the 1 cup of crumbs, or just add some Panko to the mix, or all three! Note: The crust may be more like crusty powder rather than a fried crust. To improve, make the crust layer oilier so it sticks together as a skin once cooked.
